Instructional Costs

A brief initial interview with the instructor is available-free of charge.

Monthly tuition is $90.00 plus a $25.00 registration fee. (special promotions and other discounts may apply.)

Tuition is based on 48, 1/2-hour lessons per year with 40 lessons taken August through May and 8 lessons taken in the summer (June and July). Summer lessons can be taken in one-hour appointments, with lesson appointments arranged to fit both the student's and the teacher's schedule. Students enrolled in Option 2 understand the Group Enrichment Classes taken during the year count as the 8 summer lessons).

Monthly fees are due in the office by the 10th and must be mailed if you will not be at the Academy until after the 10th. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged to your bill after the 10th. No late fees are charged to those who have a special need to pay later; however this need MUST be communicated to the Academy office and permission for late payment must be granted by the Academy.

Students paying tuition in monthly installments are reminded that payments remain the same during months in which published holidays and breaks occur because all students receive 5 lessons in some months throughout the year. These 5th lessons serve to automatically make up lessons missed when the Academy is closed.

For Option 2 Group Music Enrichment Class participants, payment is expected during the course of the (August-May) year. These payments are in addition to the regular monthly tuition payment. Upon request, permission may be granted for the Group Music Enrichment Class payments, to be billed during June and July. In this case, accounts are payable during the summer, although the student is not taking lessons during this period. The students has already received the summer instruction in the form the Group Music Enrichment Classes. The tuition charge is the same for each hour of Group Music Enrichment Class as it is for private lessons. The same late payment charge policy is in effect for these payments if not received in the specified and timely manner.

Missed Lessons

Every student is allowed two make-ups per semester (Fall and Spring) for missed private lessons. For lessons missed by a students, it is the responsibility of the adult student or student's parent to contact the teacher to schedule a make-up. Any lesson missed by a teacher will be made up and the teacher will schedule the make-up. If a student is absent for a make-up lesson, no further make up will be scheduled.

No make-up will be scheduled if a student is absent from a Group Music Enrichment Class.

Tuition is never adjusted for lessons missed by a student or a teacher.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Each teacher will inform students in this studio as to how much advance notice must be given for canceling a lesson and as to the procedures for the student to follow to cancel a lesson. Any lesson missed without advance notification given to the teacher will not be made up, except in an emergency situation.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:  A message on the CMA office phone will inform students of openings or closing due to bad weather. In addition, in the event of snow, icy, or other hazardous weather conditions, please stay tuned to WIS TV for Carolina Music Academy closings.

Student Evaluations

Practice
Each teacher will inform his students of practice requirements and expectations. In the case of a student who is habitually under-prepared for the lesson, the Academy will support the teacher's decision to assign the student to a practice room for a portion of the lesson time.

Performances
Student performances are an important part of musical training for every age, Carolina Music Academy hosts a Winter and a Spring Recital and encourages all students, both children and adults, to participate in both events.

The Academy likes to keep parents informed about their child's progress. Therefore, from time to time, reviews will be conducted and student evaluations issued. Likewise, parents are encouraged to communicate observations, questions, or concerns to the teacher as needed.
